Surrender #7: In Situ / Situational

In Situ / Situational

The universal language of imagery is my mother tongue. The desire to understand the complexity of each unique environment I encounter through the lens of my camera is, has, and will always be strong, but I grew frustrated with the limitations of the singular frame and the instant gratification of digital photography. A few years ago, I started experimenting with shooting multiple exposures on film within the camera. I fell in love with the vulnerability and simplicity of making images that I have very little control over. The process itself demands that I just let go. It encourages success and failure in equal measure. It courts mystery and ultimately, surrender.
